It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.
To celebrate this day, we have a special (and local) guest speaker - Founder & CEO of Swiftsure Innovations, Deanne McCarthy. A woman entrepreneur from Pasadena and a past ICU nurse in NL, Deanne saw a need for better oral health in her critically ill patients and the lack of the right tools needed to perform her job. In 2021, Deanne began her company and, in less than 2 years, developed the Swishkit - an innovative oral care solution for intubated patients. Along with investors and seed funding, Deanne is growing a global network and is delivering exciting results through recent clinical trials.
