FORGOTTEN ISLAND REVIEW 🇵🇭🌴 OUR KIDS’ RATING: 10/10 ⭐️
Tayo na! Masaya ako na napanood ng mga anak namin ang movie na ’to. One of my favorite moments was seeing how proud they were when the Philippine flag appeared on the screen. 🥹
Living away from the Philippines, I appreciate stories like this even more. It gave our kids a glimpse of Filipino culture and folklore, while highlighting values that feel so familiar to us—pakikisama, pamilya, pagmamahalan, at pagkakaibigan.
Nagsisimula pa lang ang story, naantig na agad ako kina Lola at Jo. I grew up with my lola, so seeing their relationship on screen immediately got me emotional. There’s something about that bond that feels very Filipino, and it brought back so many memories of growing up with mine. 🥹
Mas lalo ko ring na-miss ang Pilipinas when they showed the barrio—the surroundings, the community, and especially the familiar presence of mga tita, tito, pinsan, at iba pang kamag-anak. Parang ang dali mong maalala kung gaano kaingay, kagulo, pero kasaya kapag kumpleto ang pamilya. 😅❤️
And I think that’s what I appreciated most about this movie. Beyond the adventure and Filipino folklore, there’s a story about belonging, family, friendship, and remembering where you come from.
As a Filipino mom raising kids away from the Philippines, nakakatuwang magkaroon ng movie where I don’t have to explain everything about our culture first—they can simply watch it, enjoy it, and recognize a little piece of where we came from. 🇵🇭
Panoorin natin at supportahan. It’s always special to see our culture, stories, and Filipino values represented on screen—and even more special when we get to share them with the next generation. ❤️🇵🇭
