Drayton Valley Weekly News Report October 13th - October 20th. 2022

October 20
10:14 am – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Deer collision reported on highway 22 near the turn for highway 620.
11:10 am – Brazeau County – Highway 39 – Police received a report of a damaged ATV abandoned on the highway. Owner of the ATV was located. Driver had been involved in an accident and that is why it was left.
11:37 am – Brazeau County – Highway 621 – Report received of a possible intoxicated driver on highway 621. Black minivan was travelling west bound in highway 621, occupants were believed to be intoxicated. Members made patrols in the area but were unable to locate it.
11:44 am – Brazeau County – Range Road 80 – Complainant attended the detachment to report that he was threatened with a knife. Investigation is continuing.
1:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Vehicle vs deer. Billy the Buck was running in traffic again on 50th Street causing problems.
1:26 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police called to a possible impaired driver at Dairy Queen. Members attended and located the vehicle. Breath samples were taken from the driver and they were not intoxicated.
2:29 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview – Complainant attended the detachment to report that they lost their license plate approximately a month ago.
4:25 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Principal of a locate school called police to advise that a parent had not come to pick up their children after school today. Child Family Services advised, kids went to friend’s house. Parent called by police who advised there was a mix up in schedules and they had forgotten.
October 21
12:00 am – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – While on patrol a member located a vehicle with its 4 way flashers on. As the member approached they noted that the vehicle was smoking. Fire department contacted.
9:44 am – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Vehicle vs Deer collision reported. Billy the Buck was up on Highway 22 near Highway 621 causing problems this morning running into traffic.
9:52 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant called police to report that someone was knocking aggressively on their door at night and then running away. Complainant has video of the three suspects. Members continue to investigate.
9:53 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Complainant attended the detachment to drop off a found bike. Bike is a blue and yellow Mongoose Ravage.
10:05 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant attended the detachment to report a hit and run at the Drayton Valley Hotel. Damage to a 2013 Dark Brown Ford F150. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Drayton Valley RCMP-GRC
10:31 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Report received of an unknown male yelling from their balcony. Members spoke with the male who advised they were arguing on the phone with another individual.
11:38 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Request for a wellbeing check on couple. Member attended residence and confirmed both parties were fine. No issues.
2:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report vandalism at their office building. Matter is under investigation.
8:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a loose dog running in traffic. Member patrolled the area, dog not located.
9:53 pm – Drayton valley – 53 Avenue – Report received of suspicious persons knocking on complainant’s door. Members attended and spoke with complainant who advised the male and female had left. No description provided.
October 22
1:51 AM – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket.
1:58 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting there were people following them from the bar. Members located male who was extremely intoxicated and acting very erratically. Male arrested and released when sober with no charges.
7:30 am – Rocky Rapids – Report received of a family dispute. A lot of noise could be heard. Members attended and parties separated for the night.
8:57 AM – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant calling to report one of their employees had not shown up for work and they are concerned for their welfare. Member was able to advise complainant that the individual was fine.
10:29 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Report received of suspicious activity. Shopping cart is outside the back door. Members attended and cleared the residence. No persons located.
1:28 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report of mischief received. Caller observed two individuals lighting fireworks at the trees. Caller advised that a field is on fire. Suspects are in black clothing and driving a black vehicle. Members attended with fire department. No fire located.
2:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Request for members to remove individuals from the front steps of Westview Manor. Member attended area, and patrolled, two known individuals were observed matching the description provided. Members spoke with known individuals.
2:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting two males entered the store and one stole an electric toothbrush. Suspect had put the tooth brush under their hoody and walked out of the store. Matter is still under investigation.
3:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Report received of a suspicious male who appeared to be trying to steal a truck. Members attended and spoke with male who was attempting to fix the truck. Vehicle not stolen and male’s story checked out.
3:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
3:43 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Report received of theft of 18 cubes of oil from a lease site. Loss is valued at approximately $11,000. Matter is still under investigation.
4:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Traffic stop initiated and driver attempted to leave the vehicle. Occupants of vehicle have no contact conditions. Charges for breaching conditions.
6:19 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of a cow on the road near RR 80. Members attended, no cows located.
7:25 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Request to serve individual with court documents. Member attended and same served.
10:56 pm – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue- Report received of a campfire in the bushes near the Hospital. Members attended, campfire was in a backyard. No offence.
October 23
1:37 am – Drayton Valley – Country Style Trailer Park – Report received of a dispute. Neighbours are having a loud argument and throwing items around. Members attended, parties separated and spoken to. Both individuals were very intoxicated.
8:04 AM – Cynthia – Report of a suspicious vehicle at the Race Trac Gas Station. A pickup truck with a holiday trailer drove away in a hurry, the back jack is down and the TV antenna is up, the awning looks like it is partially torn off. Pickup is a white early 2000 ford F150.
9:17 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no driver’s licence.
9:54 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for no registration.
1:45 pm – Brazeau County – RR 84 – Report received of suspicious activity. Dark coloured SUV drove past and appeared to be recording the complainant’s property. Members attended and located the vehicle. Traffic stop initiated. Driver was attempting to get cell reception and also advised the complainant of same.
3:39 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting their vehicle was sideswiped by an early 90s Ford with a blue tailgate. Vehicle had driven out of a residence and fishtailed and side swiped complainant. No injuries; however, damage to 2013 GMC Black Yukon. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is requested to contact the Drayton Valley RCMP.
October 24
12:59 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a suspicious person in a vehicle playing the music very loudly. Members attended location and located vehicle. Female driver arrested on outstanding warrants.
1:33 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Report received of a male behaving erratically. Member attended location and spoke with male. Male was upset about ongoing issues.
2:55 am – Drayton Valley – Celebrity Estate Drive – Report received of a break and enter to a garage. Remote missing from vehicle. Nothing taken only a small amount of money.
8:22 AM – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue - Report received of a break and enter into an unlocked truck. Vehicle code reader taken.
8:41 am – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd. – Report received of a workplace disturbance following a termination. Ex-employee is refusing to leave the property. Members attended, employee had left prior to arrival, however; did contact police afterwards and complained of harassment.
8:55 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Report received of a collision on the bridge at the North Saskatchewan River. Complainant attended the detachment to report they hit some ice and hit the guardrail. No injuries. Member attended location.
9:18 am – Drayton Valley – 10 Celebrity Estate Drive – Complainant attended the detachment to report theft from motor vehicle. Green and grey bag with garage fobs were taken. Vehicle had been unlocked.
11:39 am – Drayton Valley – Request received from Calgary Police Service to serve a ticket on individual living in Drayton Valley. Member attended and served documents as requested.
12:04 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Report received of a stolen licence plate, sometime over the past week.
12:14 pm – Brazeau County – Request to assist with the eviction of tenant who has failed to pay rent. Member advised complainant that they will need to contact a bailiff to serve a formal eviction notice. Tenant advised they were leaving the following day and had made arrangements to pay overdue rent.
12:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a two vehicle collision. Members, attended with fire department and EMS. Minor injuries.
1:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Report of suspicious persons coming and going from a wooded area. Appears that a camp has been set up there.
2:06 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Report received of a stolen licence plate.
2:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Report received of a single vehicle collision. Chevrolet Silverado truck crashed into the sign at the Shell Gas Station. EMS attended and transported occupant to hospital with undetermined injuries.
3:07 pm – Brazeau County – Report received of a fraud. Individual received a text message from another unknown individual demanding $2000 or they will be hurt. The individual is claiming to be from the Mexican Cartel. This is a scam and the complainant was advised not to send any money.
3:58 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Avenue – Report received of online harassment. Ex and friends are harassing new boyfriend. Parties spoken to.
5:45 pm – Brazeau county – RR 70 – Report received of ex stalking them and breaking into their residence when they are not home. Member attended, complainant appeared to be confused. No sign of break and enter.
6:54 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting they were at a party at Boston Pizza when a male approached two females and offered them a hit from their cannabis v**e. This occurred several times. Male was removed from the party.
7:40 pm – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver issued a violation ticket for driving while suspended and failing to stop at stop sign.
7:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Report received of a dispute between individuals over gas money and car pooling. Complainant believes that the other individual is holding their keys for gas money. The other party has no idea where the keys are and even helped the complainant look for the keys. Keys have been missing for three days.
10:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing an individual fail to stop at a stop sign. Driver issued a violation ticket.
October 25
5:24 am – Brazeau County – complainant reporting suspicious activity. Can hear individuals running around and believes they may be stealing things. Member attended and patrolled the area. No one located.
8:05 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Avenue – Report received of a break and enter to a holiday trailer sometime during the night. Members attended, entrance door damaged, no other damage. Black stereo and red toolbox stolen.
8:34 AM – Drayton Valley – 38 Street – Complainant reporting speeding on 38 Street in Drayton Valley. Request additional patrols.
9:18 am – Brazeau County – Caller reporting that there is a deceased deer on Highway 753. EMCON notified to remove deer.
10:17 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Caller reporting a dispute in the parking lot of Boston Pizza. Caller did not wish police intervention.
1:43 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reporting they were travelling east on Hwy 39 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle. No injuries.
3:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Male driver ran from police after providing a false name. Male located shortly after, foot chase ensued and Male arrested. Several serious warrants out of Ontario.
3:33 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Fish and Wildlife Officer called to report they had attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle, a white 2009-2010 Ford F150, took off. Member patrolled the area, vehicle not located.
3:35 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a lost licence plate.
8:14 pm – Drayton Valley – Member on patrol located male wanted on several warrants.
10:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – 911 open line received. On callback only static heard. A male finally answered and advised they needed to call 9 to get an outside line. No emergency.
10P:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Members attended residence and arrested male for parole revocation. Male sent to remand.
11:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – 911 alarm received. Member spoke with property owner who advised there was no emergency.
October 26
10:40 AM – Drayton Valley – 51 Street – Report received of a male sleeping in the stairwell that was refusing to leave when requested. Members attended; male was gone upon arrival.
10:49 am – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting they hit a moose on Tomahawk highway. No injuries.
11:14 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Request to conduct a wellbeing check on elderly individual who has not used any water in several months. Member attended residence, no one at home. Member was able to determine that the individual was in the hospital even though the hospital would not provide that information.
12:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Report received of an incident of taking a motor vehicle without consent. Individual had used a family member’s vehicle; however, they decided they wanted it back. Individual has not yet given the vehicle back. Members to speak with individual.
1:27 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant advising that they were travelling west on Hwy 620 when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with their vehicle. No injuries.
3:41 pm – Brazeau County – RR 85 – third party complaint received regarding pointing a firearm. Individual is renting a trailer from individual. When they were moving the trailer the previous night, the individual pointed a firearm at them. Matter is under investigation.
3:56 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Report received of theft of bottles. Complainant had numerous bottles on their back deck and an unknown male came onto the deck and stole the bag of bottles. Members to follow up with complainant.
4:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a white work truck at the Derrick Lounge has pipes sticking out of the box. No flags for hazard awareness. Member attended, no vehicles matching the description were located.
4:47 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting the lights at 50 Street and Hwy 22 are not working properly. Member contacted Fortis and advised them of the situation.
6:33 pm – Brazeau County – Report of an abandoned vehicle, silver Volkswagon Jetta has been parked at the end of a lease road for the past 12 hours. No one seen around vehicle. Member contacted the registered owner of the vehicle who advised they had vehicle trouble and was en route to pick the vehicle up.
10:39 pm – Brazeau County – Report of unknown individuals attempting to steal a 500 pound propane tank from a well site.
