The Quiet Burden of Debt(UTANG)

Tahimik ang utang—but mabigat. Hindi ito laging nakikita sa pictures: naka-smile sa family photo, pero sa likod ng camera may due date bukas, may minimum payment ngayong gabi, at may “reminder” calls na kinatatakutan mong sagutin.

Real talk: hindi ka mag-isa. Maraming pamilya ang nagja-juggle ng grocery, renta, gas, tuition, at minsan… pride. Minsan nakakahiya, minsan nakakagalit sa sarili. Pero tandaan mo- ang utang ay sitwasyon, hindi identity.

Small, steady steps that help:
1. Harapin sa papel. Isulat lahat: balance, interest, due date. Kapag malinaw, mas nakakagalaw.
2. Needs vs. wants. Pansamantalang higpitan. Hindi forever—season lang.
3. Pay strategy. Snowball (maliit muna for momentum) o Avalanche (mataas na interest muna para tipid). Ang mahalaga: consistent.
4. Tawag, huwag iwas. Makipag-usap sa lender; minsan may hardship plan, interest reduction, o payment deferral.
