ADHD brains process emotions more intensely than neurotypical brains. That’s why emotional regulation is such a big challenge for many couples. When emotions run high, it can be easy to:

⚡ Feel overwhelmed quickly
⚡ React impulsively before thinking
⚡ Struggle to explain feelings clearly

But the good news? You can build better emotional regulation habits together!

Here are a few strategies to help:
✅ Pause before reacting – Take a moment to breathe before responding.
✅ Use a Code Word – Agree on a signal when one of you needs a break.
✅ Self-soothe techniques – Walking, deep breaths, grounding exercises.
