On July 24,1963, Bluenose II was launched at the Smith and Rhuland shipyard in Lunenburg.

Built by many of the same people who had worked on the original vessel at the same shipyard, the project was commissioned by the Oland family to advertise Oland Brewery products, while also promoting Nova Scotia's maritime heritage and tourism.

Today, Bluenose II is owned by the Province of Nova Scotia and operated by the Lunenburg Marine Museum Society.

Oakwood Terrace, with assistance from various 105.9 Seaside FM broadcasters, will be presenting another concert "Thank You for the Music". It will be on August 12, 2025 with tickets available at 105.9 Seaside FM between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at 1540 Shore Road, Eastern Passage. You also can purchase the tickets on the phone at (902) 469-9231 or call the same number with any questions on this event. This concert will also include a tribute to our own Paul Kennedy ( Sunday shows12:00 pm – East Coast Feeling, 1:00 pm – Mellow Country, 2:00 pm – Easy Top 40 Memories). Good morning! Today is a special day at 105.9 Seaside FM. It is Sandy B.'s birthday! And also we celebrate his first anniversary as the General Manager and Program Director, Sandy Buchan, of your community radio station. Therefore, we had two cakes! Yeah! Join Daniel Briand this Monday, July 21st at 1:00pm as he chats with Edward Peill, executive producer of "Great White North Invasion", the first Nova Scotian film to air on Discovery Channels "Shark Week" programming in its 37 year lifespan.

They chat about great white sharks within our waters, the shooting schedules for the film, and much more.

The interview is set for Monday, July 21st at 1:00pm on the "Coffee Club" program, and the film will debut on Discovery Channel and Discovery+ on Tuesday, July 22nd at 9:00pm Atlantic time.
