Congratulations to our own Paul Kennedy on his induction into the 2025 Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame last night. His contributions were recognized after over 57 plus years in the music world, and we are so happy that his success was recognized with this award.

New Brunswick-born Paul Kennedy wanted to be a radio announcer when he was 12, and started his radio career at CJLS in Yarmouth in 1968. Although he spent some 25 years on country radio, he was initially impressed by Top 40 pop and easy listening music in the 50s and 60s. Over the years, Paul has developed a real passion for many talented East Coast artists. Some of his favorite interviews include Anne Murray (his first), Stompin Tom, Waylon Jennings, John McDermott, Shania Twain, Al Martino, Faith Hill, and John Denver. His favorite all-time concert was John Denver in 1984. He is very proud of the fact that he has been with 105.9 Seaside FM from the very beginning, and he loves sharing a wide array of music every weekend with Seaside listeners.

Paul is available on 105.9 Seaside FM on Sundays with his shows: 12:00 PM – 1PM East Coast Feeling, 1:00 PM – 2:00 pm and 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Easy Top 40 Memories.

Happy Hump Day! As mentioned earlier, we are spotlighting some of the enhancements we did to the station due to your contributions to our 50/50 Draws. For those who weren't aware, 105.9 Seaside FM started in 1999 as a Special Events radio station which graduated to a full-time community radio station in 2002. Our late founder, Wayne Harrett's dream was to bring a community radio station that would serve Halifax Regional Municipality. It started in the back bedroom of his place, which is now at 1540 Shore Road, Eastern Passage. In order to do that, we need to invest a lot of funds in the Main Control Board ("MCR main tool"). This is where the broadcasts are produced by the announcers and communicate to you from their chair. Just passing through memories, we found some pictures showing our progress with the MCR Board through the years which is noted in the pictures. In the 2025 Board installation in June of this year, we replaced the 25-year-old board. It was a direct result of your generous support in our recent 50/50 draws, and we hope you enjoy our efforts to connect with the community! Thank you for supporting your community radio station! Wayne would have been so pleased of the continuing support of the listeners!

Congratulations to Elaine Janson! Elaine dropped by today to pick up the beautiful needlepoint pictures. The pictures were donated to 105.9 Seaside FM to assist us with our fundraising. The tickets on these items were sold at the recent CD and BBQ sale. 105.9 Seaside FM is a non-profit community radio station which means we do reach out for assistance through our fundraising. We appreciate our community and thank you for supporting us in everyway!
