Building upon a strong legacy, Doinik Ekattorer Chetana traces its roots to Samajkantha, a mid-week weekly that emerged in 1982. However, its fearless reporting led to its forced shutdown by the then-military government of Bangladesh. Undeterred, the publication revived itself in 2003 as Samajkantha News, publishing virtually from Canada.
