✨ Seven years ago, we said, “I do.” And ever since that day, we’ve continued saying “I do”—every single day.
I do choose to share my life with you.
I do face life’s challenges with you.
I do celebrate the joy and wonder of parenthood with you.
I do hold your hand when you need me.
I do wipe away your tears.
I do encourage you when fear tries to steal your courage.
And I do love you every day—even on the hardest ones.
These have been seven beautifully lived, incredibly intense years. Together, we’ve experienced both the happiest and the most heartbreaking moments of our lives. We welcomed our two precious children. What a privilege it is to watch Theo grow into such a kind, curious, and compassionate little boy, knowing he is becoming just like his dad. We also faced the devastating diagnosis of our little girl, only to witness the miracle of seeing her thrive. Every single day, Helena reminds us of God’s love, faithfulness, mercy, and care over our family.
That season changed us. It brought us even closer together and made us fearless. After everything we’ve overcome, new adventures don’t seem nearly as intimidating anymore. Packing only the essentials into a few suitcases and starting over in a new country? Easy peasy.
We came from completely different worlds. You—the Canadian nerd with a Latin soul, who loves technology, spreadsheets, calculations, and has an almost OCD-level attention to detail. You can make an entire room laugh without even trying, and somehow you naturally become the center of attention wherever you go.
Then there’s me—a proud Brazilian, terrible with technology, a country girl at heart who loves nature, museums, books, and art. I’m shy, I miss half of your jokes, and I still can’t understand how anyone could actually enjoy spreadsheets.
Thank you for choosing me every single day. Thank you for being my safe place, my greatest adventure, my best friend, and the most incredible father to our children.
I pray that God grants us many more years together so we can continue sharing this beautiful, challenging, blessed, and extraordinary journey called life.
