The power of ONE. One person, one value, and one season makes a difference in one’s world
Tomorrow, January 30, marks the start of the Season for Nonviolence. It is a 64 day educational and grassroots campaign that starts on the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s death and ends on the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination on April 4.
The Season is the brainchild and vision of Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. It was first celebrated in 1998 in partnership with the Association for Global New Thought. Since its inception, individuals and organizations in 900 cities in 67 countries have participated in the Season.
Each of the 64 days has a focus which characterizes a nonviolent attitude or value. This focus, through closer examination, grows from a concept, into an idea, then into an experience and useable tool for action.
