🎬✨ More Than a Film Festival. It’s where stories, cultures and conversations come together.

The Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF) 2026 returns to the heart of Chicago from September 17–20, continuing a remarkable journey that began in 2010 and celebrating 17 years of South Asian cinema, art and storytelling.

This year, get ready for four incredible days filled with films, filmmakers, red-carpet moments, conversations and stories representing South Asia and its global diaspora.

🌟 Opening Night gets even more special as legendary actor and filmmaker Deepti Naval is honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, followed by the Opening Night presentation of Boong and a Film + Filmmaker Q&A with director Laksmipriya Devi.

🎥 The celebration continues with an exciting lineup of screenings, filmmaker conversations, panels, networking and community experiences — bringing audiences closer to the people and ideas behind the stories.

And the journey concludes with Closing Night film 52 Blue, starring Neha Dhupia, Adil Hussain and Sanjay K. Nair, along with the Closing Night Awards Ceremony.

Alberta Government @ of Alberta Math and reading skills are critical pillars to student success. To help ensure students receive the help they need to succeed, Alberta’s government is expanding the math and reading screeners program to grades 4 and 5, helping teachers identify learning needs earlier and provide targeted support. The math and reading screeners program will also continue for earlier grades after the province saw impressive results and improvements from last year.
“These screeners are short, simple activities that can have a huge impact on identifying and stopping issues with math and reading before they grow into even larger issues down the road for a student, and we are already seeing impressive results for the screeners conducted last year.”

Message from YourAlberta (Government of Alberta)

Alberta’s government is launching its first conservation-focused specialty licence plate. Proceeds from sales of the new plate will be directed to the Alberta Conservation Association, a trusted organization with a long history of stewardship, habitat restoration, wildlife research and support for sustainable outdoor activities across Alberta.
Every purchase helps fund critical, on-the-ground work, from restoring habitats and monitoring wildlife to advancing research and supporting community-driven conservation programs across Alberta.
“Alberta’s wildlife and wild places are a source of pride for people across our province. This licence plate gives Albertans an innovative, simple and visible way to support conservation while celebrating one of our most iconic species. Every plate sold helps protect habitats and keeps our fish and wildlife populations healthy for future generations.”
Todd Loewen, Minister of Forestry and Parks.

Message from Alberta Government Alberta’s government is welcoming students back to school with a record $10.8 billion in education funding for more teachers, in-class supports and classroom space. This is a more than seven per cent funding increase and a response to unprecedented growth, with almost 90,000 new students entering schools in just four years.
“Parents and teachers told us more was needed to support our world-class education system, and we listened. I am proud to say that more support is coming this school year – giving students the resources they need to succeed and giving teachers the support they need to do what they do best.”
