Edmonton’s Fourth Annual Broad View International Film Festival is coming up soon, November 13 to 16, 2025, and ESFF is proud to help spread the word.

This year’s festival features an inspiring lineup of women-directed films, including the Edmonton premiere of Janis Ian: Breaking Silence, a powerful music documentary about the trailblazing 1960s singer-songwriter. Audiences can also look forward to in-person Q&As with three incredible directors: Clare Mullen (The Edmonton Storyteller: The Life and Times of Tony Cashman), Dominique Keller (Send and Receive), and Sandi Somers (Hailey Rose). All films will screen at Metro Cinema, Garneau Theatre (8712-109 St.).

Founded in 2021, Broad View showcases women-directed films and works to foster the careers of those who create them through screenings, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. Their mission is to amplify the voices of women filmmakers and strengthen representation within the industry.

The festival also includes a Script Development Program, where two winning unproduced screenplays are brought to life through a professional table read. This special event takes place at the Strathcona Community League Hall (10139-87 Ave.).
