We were to ‘s brand new second location at in Edmonton and here is our honest takeaway. Thanks for the invite!
First the positives. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. This was their soft launch so they were all quite fresh to their new positions and they were all amazing! The atmosphere here is awesome and their drinks were quite tasty. With tv’s everywhere and the swanky vibe this is a great spot to watch a sports game.
Now for the downside … the food. Unfortunately we both left california pizza kitchen quite unimpressed by the food. We tried the Spinach Dip, Five Cheese Pizza, and grilled chicken caesar salad. The spinach dip and pizza were quite boring. The dip was bland and lacked the rich cheesiness that I crave in a spinach dip. As for the pizza, it was pretty good and definitely would be better if it had pizza sauce. We both agreed we would not spend $21.00 for it. Unfortunately our Caesar Salad did have some wilted lettuce in it which was a bummer but the management did offer to replace it once we let them know.
Overall we think California Pizza Kitchen is worth trying out but we definitely would not get these food items again. We spoke with plenty of other people who also attended the soft launch and got to try some different items and they had a completely different experience.
