Man Caves & She Shed's - A shipping Container Is The Answer...

With our busy, modern-day lives, it’s important to have a place of refuge where you can truly relax and unwind. Man caves, and more recently she sheds, are the perfect rooms to gain some rest and relaxation. And what better way to build one than with a shipping container.

A stressful career, child-rearing, volunteer obligations, household duties…all these things and more compete for your time and energy. Wouldn’t you like a place where you can go and leave all of that behind for a few minutes? Where you can take a mini-vacation from the ‘real world’ and focus on your well-being, your hobbies, and your passions instead?

A she-shed or man cave is a small-ish room or area that is either closed off or separated from the rest of your house, often in a secluded spot where you can be free from distractions. While it may have a secondary use (as a guest bedroom, for example), it’s primary use is all about you.

CONSTRUCTION SITES & SHIPPING CONTAINERS

Shipping containers are versatile and can be repurposed in various ways at construction sites to enhance efficiency, organization, and functionality. Here are five ways they can be used:

1. On-site Offices: Shipping containers can be converted into on-site offices for project managers, engineers, and other personnel. These offices can be equipped with desks, chairs, air conditioning, lighting, and insulation for a comfortable working environment. Windows and doors can be added for natural light and easy access.
2. Storage Units: One of the most common uses of shipping containers at construction sites is for storage. They provide secure and weatherproof storage space for tools, equipment, materials, and supplies. Containers can be stacked to save space vertically and organized based on the type of equipment or materials stored inside.
3. Workshops: Shipping containers can be transformed into workshops where construction workers can perform tasks like welding, carpentry, and equipment maintenance. These workshops can be equipped with workbenches, power outlets, lighting, and ventilation systems to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
4. Living Quarters: For construction projects in remote areas or projects that require workers to stay on-site for an extended period, shipping containers can be converted into temporary living quarters. These living quarters can include sleeping quarters, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas. They can be outfitted with amenities such as bunk beds, showers, toilets, sinks, refrigerators, and microwaves.
5. Customized Structures: Shipping containers can be used to create custom structures such as cafeterias, break rooms, first aid stations, and equipment enclosures. With some creativity and customization, containers can be modified to meet specific project requirements and provide additional functionality beyond traditional office and storage spaces.
6. These are just a few examples of how shipping containers can be utilized at construction sites. Their durability, portability, and versatility make them valuable assets for improving efficiency and organization in construction projects.

USED WIND & WATERTIGHT SHIPPING CONTAINERS FOR YOUR STORAGE NEEDS

Wind & Watertight (WWT) shipping containers are more affordable and that makes them a better choice when it comes to storage needs. at Used Conex, we offer great quality WWT containers with a 25-year leak warranty. We DON'T supply As-Is shipping containers that come with multiple holes and damages.

WWT containers from Used Conex have passed a multi-point inspection for strict wind and watertight standards and are guaranteed to be free of holes and leaks.

A WWT Container is a Grade-C Used Conex box that no longer meets CSC (International Convention for Safe Containers) requirements. These containers are sold by shipping companies once they have reached the end of their maritime lifespan and are typically transferred into storage service and the modification markets.

WWT containers have significant wear-and-tear and are retired from shipping service when they are considered liable to structural compromise.

USED CARGO WORTHY SHIPPING CONTAINERS

At Used Conex we can provide you a sea-worthy certificate on a used Cargo Worthy shipping container that you can purchase through us. You can use the Cargo Worthy containers to ship your items overseas.

Cargo Worthy and WWT (Wind & Water Tight) containers are similar in many ways. Both have experienced extensive use in maritime shipping service and are typically 5-10 years old. However, these two container types are actually of different quality grades, with Cargo Worthy containers being a Grade B, and WWT containers being a Grade C.

Cargo Worthy (CW) shipping containers are in better shape than used Wind and Watertight Containers (WWT), and they are slightly more expensive as well.
