Launched in 2015, NVMA is Edmonton's premiere, affordable electronic music DJ & Production school. Located on Jasper Avenue in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, NVMA features weekly night classes, weekend workshops, 1-on-1 mentorship, private studios for recording, and a community of professional and aspiring producers and DJs. Every year we run two weeks of Teen Summer Camps where kids ages 10 to 17 hang out at NVMA with new friends, make beats, and learn how to DJ. And play Minecraft when we’re not looking 🙄

The week absolutely flies by, and we have such a blast learning new words like “aura” and being reminded that we are, in fact, Chopped Unc 👴

All that being said, on the final Friday of Summer Camps, the youth get to show us what they’ve learned with our Friday Final Performance, live on Twitch! Aka- today!

Have you heard? NVMA alumni HEXSN is bringing a brand new mini fest to Edmonton, and we’re stoked!

The Gathering is a FREE all-ages evening with lots of bass, aerial arts, acro yoga, interactive art, eats, local vendors, and plenty of room to dance, flow, hang out, or just enjoy a summer evening at Victoria park with friends.

Featuring music from 6–9pm by morzie (another NVMA alumni!), 𝖗 𝖚 𝖓 𝖎 𝖈, & of course- HEXSN

Bring your flow toys, hula hoops, poi, picnic blankets, lawn chairs, your friends, or just yourself!

We’re extremely proud to see our DJ’s not only performing at events around Edmonton, but creating their own spaces and bringing their own ideas to the community 🖤 Great work Chantelle 🔥

Our yearly Teen Summer Camps return tomorrow and run for the next two weeks! ☀️

In these camps, young producers and DJs rotate through hands-on DJ and Ableton stations, learning new skills while collaborating with other campers and getting creative together. The days are all about exploring music, experimenting, making things, and building confidence in a fun and interactive environment. We also take a mid-day walk to get outside, burn off some energy, and give everyone a chance to reset before getting back to making music.

This year’s camps are completely sold out. Thank you!! 🔥
