Joel Torres Crowned the 2026 Pinoy Singing Sensation
Halifax vocalist captivates judges and audience with his versatility, experience and memorable performance of “Spain”
EDMONTON, AB — September 6, 2026 — Joel Torres of Halifax, Nova Scotia, has been crowned the 2026 Pinoy Singing Sensation Masters Edition Grand Champion.
The 53-year-old vocalist consistently earned high scores from the judges throughout the competition. During the Grand Finals, Torres captivated the audience with his vocal versatility and commanding performance of Al Jarreau’s version of “Spain,” securing the championship title.
Torres began singing at the age of 17 and has developed a versatile musical style that embraces ballads, pop and jazz. His remarkable musical journey has taken him to stages around the world—including a memorable experience working as a singing gondolier in Macao.
As Grand Champion, Torres receives:
* $2,500 in cash
* An original song written and composed by legendary Filipino hitmaker Vehnee Saturno
* A professional recording and lyric video produced by Vehnee Saturno Music Corporation
* A championship trophy
* A featured performance in a future ShowOff concert, produced by Le Tigre Entertainment
