This song hurts...

"Please Stay" by Srvent & Elizabeth Chamberlain inspired by our good friend Julie Whelan's award-winning short film about infertility and miscarriage.

I could listen to this song on repeat over and over again, and I do. There's an inexplicable deep ache that I feel in my heart that never seems to lessen regardless of how much I listen to it.

I am extremely proud of our song. It's lived only inside our hearts and our computers since we shot the film and I am happy that people can finally hear it.

Extra special thanks:
♡ Srvent (of course) for creating vulnerable art with me and being a generous scene partner and creative partner.
♡ Julie Whelan for casting me and Spencer in her beautiful film and for allowing us to create this art piece as a love-letter to her touching story.
♡ Doug Pettigrew for helping to film the music video and being super duper cool, as always. (He's so cool!)
♡ The entire "Please Stay" film team (who are all tagged in this post!)
♡ YOU for watching/listening/reading & supporting our art!

Special thank you to Julie Whelan for allowing us to use footage from her original film, "Please Stay", which she was awesome enough to cast us in as actors....

"Please Stay" the song is out now. I want to say the right thing to convince you to watch it but I just don't have the words. Inspired from our roles in Julie-Anne Whelan 's award winning short film, that Elizabeth Chamberlain and I starred in, I wrote this song one evening after we wrapped filming for Julie. I sent it to Elizabeth that night and upon her hearing my rough draft in the morning, we got together immediately and recorded it. When we were recording this there were profound moments and it brought up some extreme sorrow for me, but also some joy. Grattitude. Being an artist is a wonderful and terrible experience. This song hurts my heart.

Thank you to Doug Pettigrew for being a wicked 1st AC, and Julie again for allowing us to use b footage from the film itself. Hadi Zounji also deserves a shoutout for being an excellent director of photography to help Julie so brilliantly.
