Peter Sweetzir captured at Blue Frog Studios last Saturday night tickling the ivories with the Steve Kozak Band. Pete will be part of a reunion of the band Pontiac that’s happening next month in Edmonton and I have a recording of that band from 1977 never heard in public on Cam Hayden's Friday Night Blues Party tonight. That beautiful charcoal of Clarence Gatemouth Brown is by way of celebrating the great bluesman’s birthday this week. We’ll also mark the birthdays of Steve Pineo, Nigel Mack, D.K. Harrell and Alexis Korner. New tunes by Janiva Magness TOMMY CASTRO, Ally Venable Band, Bobby Rush and more will be heard, 9 to midnight MT on any of the CKUA Radio Networks 16 FM transmitters and online and on demand at www.CKUA.com .
