We need your help to change the future of Canada’s film and TV industry!

The Disability Screen Office has launched Canada’s Screen Industry Survey on Disability—a national survey that will help push for real change when it comes to accessibility and inclusion in the industry.

Link: https://lnkd.in/gFFhARm8

This is the first-ever comprehensive survey to better understand the experiences and perspectives of people with disabilities working in the Canadian screen sector. The DSO is partnering with Québec-based equity organization Coalition MÉDIA and has commissioned leading creative industries research firm Nordicity to undertake this study.

Whether you work in film and TV now, hope to break into the industry, or want to share your experience working alongside colleagues with disabilities, we'd love to hear from you. This Survey will gather the insights needed to identify barriers, highlight best practices, and build new standards for disability representation and inclusion on and off screen.

Your answers will inform:
- A research report to support the DSO’s ongoing advocacy for industry-wide improvements; and
- A Best Practices Guide to Disability Engagement in the Canadian Film and Television Industry—a resource for industry professionals at all levels, across both Anglophone and Francophone markets, with clear guidelines on creating accessible, inclusive productions.

The Survey is now open and will be open through June 2025.

Help us create a more inclusive screen industry! Click here to take the Survey now: https://lnkd.in/gFFhARm8

Thank you to our funders Accessibility Standards Canada, the Canada Media Fund, Shaw Rocket Fund, Ontario Creates, Creative BC, Bell Fund and PictureNL for their support of this crucial work.
