Big, Huge, GIANT step in the life of this retired author, editor, and book publisher! I just shipped the last boxes of books back to an author for them to sell, leaving my storage space /garage floor and shelves empty! Well, not completely empty. We've quickly put some household items on those shelves. But they have NOTHING to do with book publishing. Wow. This marks the official end of 25 years of selling books. Sigh.

Thank You To Those Who Helped Write The Story

After creating more than 80 books over 25 years, I am officially retired from book publishing! I've collaborated with countless talented writers, authors, assistant editors, co-publishers, artists, printers, booksellers, gift shop staff, publishing colleagues, support staff at SaskBooks and Creative Saskatchewan, and many others who helped bring these books to life. To each of you, thank you. Your creativity, ideas, encouragement, and dedication have made this journey not only possible but deeply rewarding. I hope you will continue to help tell, preserve, and share the stories that matter.

My heartfelt gratitude also goes to my family for their unwavering love and support. My late husband, Al, was a journalist with a similar love of the written word. He stood beside me as I chased freelance newspaper and magazine assignments for decades - even while on vacation! My children - Dave, Lisa, and Dani - watched me build my business with little more than a pen, a notebook, a computer, and a determination to tell meaningful stories. Dave and Lisa even became authors whose books I had the privilege of publishing, while Lisa and Dani became trusted advisors and sounding boards after Al passed away. Many other family members and friends have held me up and helped me along this road, and I am forever indebted to them too.

And now, life is opening another wonderful chapter. My husband-to-be, Marlowe, has patiently learned about my writing and publishing world while I was, meanwhile, considering retirement. I look forward with gratitude to building a new life with Marlowe, and I cherish the love, encouragement, and happiness he brings as we begin this next adventure together.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you to you, the readers. Without your curiosity, encouragement, and support, there would be little reason to write, publish, and preserve these stories. Thank you for embracing our Prairie books, sharing them with others, and helping keep our history alive for future generations. You have been the reason for every page, every book, and every year of this remarkable journey.

P.S. Contact authors Mary Harelkin Bishop, Lisa Driver, J. S. Wallace -writer, Romie Christie, and Gary Hoium directly to purchase their books.

Ack! I so wanted to grab a marker and fix this sign! My editor brain could barely look at it.

My author daughter Lisa Driver talks in her 4 spiritual guidebooks about recognizing angel signs in your life. This especially occurs after a loved one passes or some other significant event happens in your life. So I've been open to that concept ever since I edited and helped publish her first book, Opening Up in 2014. And I've seen many, many angel signs since - coins, feathers, unexpected visits from birds and butterflies, and more.

Today, we saw these beautiful creatures in our backyard... A western tiger swallowtail butterfly (the first one we've seen here!) on our hanging planter, the return of some yellow finches (excuse the fuzzy photo - they leave if you get too close), & a golden dragonfly posing for me on a watering nozzle.

Thanks, Lisa, for wakening me to the presence of angel signs. And thanks, Universe. I hear you!
