Kyle Novis strapped back into the iconic #21 Mini Cooper and came out swinging.

Heat One had Kyle starting on the pole, and from the drop of the green he never looked back. He rocketed away from the field, building a huge gap over his competitors and cruising to another dominant heat race win for 2025.

Heat Two took a tough turn. As Kyle rolled through the pace laps, the car suddenly misfired horribly. Before the green even dropped, he was forced to pull off to save the motor.

That meant Kyle had to start shotgun in the 17th spot for the feature. From the opening laps, the Mini Cooper came alive, and Kyle was on the move — slicing through the field with speed and determination. After a long caution period, though, the dreaded misfire demon struck again. Kyle tried everything, driving the wheels off it and keeping the car wide open through the corners just to maintain momentum. But the problem got worse, and on lap 13 he made the smart call to pull off and save the engine, officially scoring 17th.

The Novis crew has been pouring in the hours all season long, and they’ll be looking to play spoiler in a big way on championship night.

Victoria McLenon rolled into the second-to-last points night of the season ready to put it all on the line.

Heat One saw her start back in 8th, but she wasted no time slicing her way through traffic. Coming to the white flag, Victoria found herself sliding through the grass off turn four. She pulled off an incredible save, but the momentum loss cost her, and she crossed the line in 9th.

Heat Two put Victoria on the pole, and she jumped out to lead the opening laps. The 03 slipped by a few laps later, and just when she was setting her sights on a rebound, Victoria was sent sideways in turns one and two. With another spectacular save, she kept the car straight, but valuable track position slipped away, leaving her to finish 8th.

When feature time rolled around, Victoria locked in on the task ahead. Starting deep in the field from 16th, she had to navigate a chaotic opening filled with multiple yellows for spins. Once the race finally strung out, Victoria was flying — weaving through traffic with more speed and aggression than most of the field. She charged her way up to 7th before a late caution set up a five-lap shootout. On the restart, chaos erupted, and Victoria smartly checked up to avoid disaster. The move cost her one spot, but she brought the car home in a hard-fought 8th-place finish.

Gary Hannah made his long-awaited return to Canada’s toughest 1/3-mile oval, and it turned into a true test of grit and determination. Practice one looked harmless at first with a simple self-spin, but it quickly escalated when the # car came back with the entire front end torn off.

Thanks to an incredible show of sportsmanship, with nearly every driver in the pit area lending a hand, the crew managed to piece the car back together just in time for a few courtesy laps before the heat races.

Lining up on the pole for Heat Race One, Gary powered out front and led the field until halfway, when a right-rear tire began going down. Fighting a car that was harder and harder to control, he dug deep and still held on for a strong 2nd-place finish.

Heat Race Two saw Gary roll off from 4th. He settled into line early before a mid-race caution reset the field. Restarting in 2nd, he tucked into 3rd, but the white flag lap brought chaos when the #41 of Tyler Junkin lost power. Thinking fast, Gary swung wide and powered past to snag another 2nd-place finish—making it back-to-back runner-up results in the heats!

When the feature rolled around, Gary lined up from 6th place. The race was a battle of attrition, with multiple restarts and hard racing all over the track. Unfortunately, Gary’s rough night continued when a wreck unfolded directly in front of him. With nowhere to go, he got collected and was forced to retire early.

Despite the heartbreak, Gary and his crew were grateful to every single competitor who loaned parts, time, and effort to get him back on track. That level of sportsmanship will never be forgotten.
