Ever drive past a field and wonder what’s growing there? This is part 4 of the series where I’ll be sharing photos and info about different crops.

Today's crop is canola
Canola is an important crop grown mainly for its oil, which is used in cooking, food processing, and some industrial products. After the oil is removed, the leftover meal is often used in livestock feed. Canola is usually harvested with a combine when the pods have dried down and the seeds are ready.
Fun fact: when it’s flowering, canola fields turn bright yellow and can be one of the most eye-catching sights on the farm.

Today's crop is soybeans
Soybeans are a versatile crop with different uses depending on how they’re grown and processed. Most soybeans are grown for livestock feed, oil, tofu, soy milk, and many other food and industrial products. Soybeans are usually harvested with a combine once the plants have dried down and the pods are ready.
Fun fact: soybeans are also used to make products like biodiesel, candles, crayons, and some plastics.
