People sometimes ask me about which hall to use in Estevan, and there really isn't a bad one.

If you want an outdoorsy feel in an average size hall you have the Doug Third Gym or the Rotary hall, both in Woodlawn. They've both had a major facelift, and both offer kitchen, fenced yard and improved sound due to baffles or wall covers. Both halls offer
camper hookups.

For average size halls there's also the Elks, the Taylorton in the Days Inn or the Exhibition Hall. Of the three for sound I prefer the Exhibition Hall. They put in sound baffles to kill most of the echo, but still need cones in the corners, but overall it's also the best package for bar/kitchen. The Days Inn will of course do an excellent meal which gives it that edge, the other two you have to bring food in.

Large halls - Days Inn Plaza or the Legion main hall. They stand alone. You can go from basic to deluxe with either. It's completely up to you. Both provide a top notch meal with excellent service.
Between the 2 for sound - The Legion. It's an old school hall built for dances. It's acoustics are unmatched in Estevan and the dance floor actually flexes under the load of a crowd which somehow improves the sound.
Both will deliver an excellent experience.

Largest halls - Wylie Mitchell building or the Estevan Curling club. With these it's a wash. You can put more people into either of these halls than every other hall
In both you decide the caterer, the decorating,etc. For sound it's like playing in a box. There's echo if you place speakers poorly and because of the size of the hall, one set of speakers won't cut it.
What I do in these two halls is bring an extra set of speakers that I transmit sound to wirelessly (NO not bluetooth - that is unreliable - I use better tech).
I place these satellite speakers about half way down the hall and aim them slightly back towards the dance floor. This way everyone in the hall can hear the speeches and toasts during the reception, and the music through the dance.
There's only 2 DJ's with this capability in Estevan that I'm aware of.

Anyways there it is. Every hall has the ability to make your event as good as you wanted. Pick the size, decide the services you need and who will provide it, then have a helluva party or anniversary or my fav - a wedding.
