Ani Castro, "Palpak at puno ng kurapsyon ang infamous dolomite beach project. Ito po ang iniwang legasiya sa atin ng Duterte Administration. Ganito po ba ang gusto natin?"

Para naman sa mga Duterte Supporters, Malaki ang kapabayaan ng tao kung bakit bumabaha ng basura sa Dolomite Beach at sa mga karatig na ilog nito sa buong metro manila.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. have led the Philippines with different priorities and leadership styles.

During Duterte’s administration, major measures included the Build, Build, Build infrastructure program, Universal Health Care, free tuition in state universities and colleges, tax reforms, and the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. His administration significantly increased infrastructure spending, although his presidency also faced major controversies, particularly over the drug war and human-rights concerns.

Under Marcos, the government has continued major infrastructure projects while focusing on food and energy security, healthcare, social protection, investment, digital transformation, and stronger international partnerships. His administration has also taken a more assertive diplomatic position in defending Philippine sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea. His term is still ongoing, so his full record cannot yet be judged in the same way as Duterte’s completed presidency.

‘HINDI HO BA CONFLICT OF INTEREST ‘YUN?’

Senator-Judge Raffy Tulfo raised the possibility of a conflict of interest after it was revealed that Defense Counsel Atty. Michael Poa had previously gone to the Commission on Audit (COA) regarding an audit query.

Presiding Officer Francis "Chiz" Escudero responded that no conflict of interest exists, noting that the respondent in the impeachment trial is Vice President Sara Duterte.

“Hindi ho ba conflict of interest ‘yun para siya ay mag-represent dito ngayon sa pinag-uusapan nating confidential funds?” Tulfo asked.

“The respondent in this case is VP Sara Duterte. Atty. Poa, although he served under OVP and DepEd, is not a named respondent. I believe there is no conflict given that he is not the one in trial,” Presiding Officer Chiz Escudero said.
