I didn’t take home the award this time...
But let me tell you—being nominated as a Rising Star in the Women Thrive community is a win in itself.
Because a few years ago?
I was just trying to survive the day.
Trying to quiet the chaos in my mind while showing up for my babies.
Trying to figure out who I even was underneath all the trauma.
And now—people are seeing me.
Not for what I’ve been through, but for what I bring to the table.
This nomination tells me what I already know deep down:
I’m not done rising.
I haven’t even hit my stride.
So while I didn’t get the award today…
Don’t worry. I’m still coming for everything I’ve claimed.
Not for recognition.
But because I’ve got mamas to serve, homes to help heal, and generations to shift.
Watch me rise.

Mom guilt and mom shame are not the same.

➡️ Guilt says “I did something bad.”
➡️ Shame says “I am bad.”

Guilt can be a healthy signal. Shame? It’s heavy, paralyzing, and deeply familiar for trauma survivors.

You might think, “I yelled at my kids again,” and instead of feeling a pang of guilt, your brain spirals:
“I’m a terrible mom.”

But listen—mistakes don’t make you unworthy.

What if you practiced saying:
“I made a mistake… and I’m still a good mama.”

You're not a bad mom. You're a healing one. đź’ś

As a trauma-surviving mama, do you ever find yourself paralyzed by the fear of repeating your past with your own children?

I get it. The weight of that worry can be overwhelming.

But here's the truth: while it's important to be aware of our patterns, we don't need to aim for perfection. In fact, striving for an unrealistic ideal of never causing our kids any discomfort can actually hinder their resilience.

In my latest podcast episode, I sat down with Katie Turner, a registered psychologist and fellow mama, to discuss this very topic. We explored how to balance healing our own trauma while raising resilient children.

Katie shared some powerful insights:

Recognize that some level of struggle is part of the human experience.Focus on modeling appropriate repair and accountability when we make mistakes.Develop self-compassion by challenging our harsh inner critic.Understand the cultural context of impossible standards placed on mothers.

If you're wrestling with the fear of recreating trauma or struggling with perfectionism in your parenting, this episode is for you.

Ready to shift your perspective and find more peace in your motherhood journey?
