Times are so very hard for small businesses... Much love to the fine folks at Oak & Aether. May you be able to swiftly readjust and move forward.

Hello friends.
The time has come for us to make a difficult announcement. The retail part of Oak & Aether is going to be reducing its hours effective immediately, open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-5pm and before years end it will be suspending the retail portion in its current form. This decision has not come lightly and is influenced by several factors.

Please note: The Space (829 Victoria st.) and the Tattooists will still be here - but once we phase out the retail, admittance will be by appointment only unless we are having a special event. We will be keeping our webpage up and running Canadian operations and local (Kamloops area) orders can be made for next day pick up.

We would like to let you all know that we’re considering this a hibernation and not a closure, as Oak & Aether moves towards its next evolution.

To any artists or consignment vendors who still have product with us and who have not yet received an email, we will be in touch shortly about the next steps.

We would like to thank every single person who visited and supported us over these last 7 years.
Without you so much magic never would have happened. Please know that it was you that made this adventure something truly special for us!!!

All of the pre-orders have now shipped, and we currently have only 8 copies left of this most exclusive and limited edition of 22 copies total (incl. the author’s & archival copies, which are not meant to be put in circulation).

This Solander-boxed Artisanal edition took well over 6 months to elaborate and produce by the skillful hands of the binders at Ludlow Bookbindery in the UK.

By far the most lavish of our deluxe edition productions yet, the importance of the content for the heritage & praxis of Traditional Craft, and, more specifically, the Cochrane tradition, and the overall materials chosen for it as well as the care taken to realize its design indeed necessitate for us to offer it at a rather high retail price: $1399 CAD (approx. $999 USD, €850, £750, etc.). However, note that even at this relatively high price, not only do we deem this edition absolutely worth it, but the profit margin for us on the sale of these is extremely slim (like, way slimmer than you’d possibly think for the amount of time and work put into them.)
