In Milan’s MIND Milano Innovation District, developed on the former Expo 2015 site, Stefano Boeri designs a religious building that reinterprets the archetypal features of the monastery.
The space is both protected and permeable: within a vast hortus conclusus, the “Cloister of Religions” takes shape.
As Boeri explains, it is “designed to respond to the needs of a plural society and to promote interreligious dialogue.”
The Ambrosian Monastery, commissioned by the Diocese of Milan and expected to be completed within three years, will rise at the intersection of the Cardo and Decumanus axes, occupying an area of 2,700 square meters, nearly half of which will be dedicated to open spaces >> https://archlov.com/42uCUY7
