As a full time RV’er we wanted to make our space more functional. We didn’t have anywhere to keep jackets and shoes. Since we eat in the living room most of the time or outside in the summer months, We removed the dinette in the kitchen slide out and added a coatrack/ Boot shelf, water cooler and a storage shelf that doubles as a coffee bar.

3 Things that make RV living in the winter better

We live in our 5th wheel full time in northern Alberta. These three things have helped us out immensely:

1- Skirting to keep the warm heat from escaping, helps your hvac perform more efficiently, reduces heat loss, keeps floors warmer . We also wrapped our slide outs with the same material to help keep those warmer also.

2- Heated Underbelly - keeps the bottom storage areas and pipes warm.

3- Insulated Tarp & Poly , we laid poly down on the ground underneath our unit to act as a V***r barrier to help keep the cold air from the ground from coming up. We then put an insulated tarp on top of the poly to keep the warm air from the trailer from going into the ground.
