Joint GSPS and OPS Investigation Results in Child Luring Arrest
On August 21, 2026, the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit in conjunction with the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Internet Child Exploitation Unit and Digital Forensic Unit executed a search warrant in Nepean, Ontario.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old male was arrested and charged with the following offences:
• 2 counts of Luring a child under 16
• 1 count of Luring a child under 18
The 21-year-old male appeared in Bail Court on August 21, 2026, to answer to the charges.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit is part of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
