“Some of these girls will insult us for driving Bolt but they don’t know that we are making more money than their boyfriend who is paying for the ride” the Bolt driver told me.
He said he has driven up to 80 thousand Naira that day despite some hiccups and he just wants to ensure that after deducting fuel and Bolt Commission he takes home 50k.
I asked him do you guys take home 50k in profit in a day? And he said why not?
He told me he bought fuel of 30k today and he has CNG and none of them is finished.
At this point I said Facebook people when like argument will never believe so he showed me his dashboard and I appealed to him to let me snap last month and this month.
Last month the total revenue from his ride was over 2.6 million, Bolt took about 480k, and another 70k making 550k. After all deductions he was left with 2.1 million Naira. Even if he spent a million on fuel (which he didn’t because he carefully selected a Peugot 407) he will still be left with 1.1 Million Naira.
Let us even remove money for maintenance and all, you are still talking hundreds of thousands to take home.
At this point many will be shouting it is not possible. That is why you are where you are my dear. I will post the picture of his dashboard on comment section.
Even if you want to argue that this can only happen in Abuja abeg who tie your leg for Yola? Who tie your leg for Ugbiyoko?
And yes this won’t happen to all drivers because most of them get witch.
They carry whatever they think is their problem on their head, they buy bigger cars so that “I can also use it for myself” like driving a Peugeot 407 or a Yaris is a crime. And did I add that they cancel rides and call passenger to ask “how much is showing, I cannot go for that amount oo” thinking they are smart?
In short the last issue was raised by this driver with so much disgust. He said “do you know some of our drivers will call passengers and say how much is in the App? Why don’t they build their own App, I take whatever is there because I know Bolt has to make its money and i dont cancel so that they pick me on time”
You can see why he is doing well.
Many others are drowning in exactly the same business because they insist that they are and they carry this bad attitude about.
Fix your mindset and be appreciative when things are going well. A friend once asked how are things at a time and I said “I swear everything is going well, better than I thought”. Was my life perfect then? No, but I had a lot to be grateful for. All these “Nigeria done fold up”, “we Dey, na only hunger”, can only make you not see goodness. You will complain about every single thing even the ones that are going well.
Earlier in the same day I shared the fact that I did Bolt at a time with a Bolt drider and he said how was your experience. I said it was fine I benefited a lot and he looked disappointed. Then he said “well, those days fuel was cheap” I just laugh.
