Farm & Food Care Ontario

Farm & Food Care Ontario Farm & Food Care Ontario is growing public trust and consumer confidence in farming and food by working collaboratively with Ontario farmers and food partners.

July 2021 update: We have just learned that someone is falsely representing themselves as a FFCO agent & recruiting foreign workers to come to Canada at great personal cost. This is a scam. FFCO does NOT facilitate immigration to Canada or arrange contracts for Temporary Foreign Workers. Farm & Food Care is a coalition of farmers and associated businesses proactively working together with a commit

ment to provide credible information and strengthen sustainable food and farming for the future. We encourage you to interact on our page, however since we unfortunately cannot monitor every conversation, Farm & Food Care expects that users will not post content that falls into the following categories and reserves the right to remove postings that are:

We had a great day with George Brown College culinary students touring three Ontario farms, learning firsthand where our food comes from and meeting the dedicated farmers behind it.

Our first stop was Windmill Mushrooms, where we explored the world of mushroom growing. Thank you to Mushrooms Canada for sponsoring this part of the tour.

Next, we visited a third-generation egg farm owned by the Schillings family in Durham Region. We had the opportunity to see inside one of their barns, watch the egg grading line, visit the farm store and enjoy a wonderful lunch. Thank you to Egg Farmers of Ontario for supporting this visit.

We ended the day at Ceresmore Farms in Bowmanville, operated by the Rickard family since 1866. Today, they grow certified seed and grain crops across more than 1,300 acres. Thank you to Good in Every Grain for sponsoring this final stop.

Thank you to all of our farm hosts and partners for making this experience possible.

Ontario Agriculture Week is well underway!

This week is all about celebrating the farmers and food processors to retailers and everyone in between.

As you sit down for lunch today — maybe it’s a hearty soup, a fresh salad, or a classic grilled cheese — chances are, Ontario-grown ingredients are part of the meal. It’s a tasty reminder of how local food sustains us every day.

Keep the celebration going by sharing your favourite Ontario-grown foods and tagging them with and .

This week is an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the incredible bounty of food produced by our farmers, the dedicated individuals working across the agri-food sector, and the vibrant rural communities that thrive because of agriculture.

Think about what was on your plate this morning.
Eggs? Apples? Milk?
Chances are, your breakfast was made with Ontario-grown ingredients — a daily reminder of the impact our local food system has on our lives.

Show your support for Ontario’s food sector by using and across your social media platforms.
