But here’s the catch — silent doesn’t mean total silence 🙅‍♀️ It simply means fewer (or no) terminal-wide boarding announcements. Instead, airports rely on screens, apps, and gate updates to keep things moving — creating a calmer, less chaotic travel vibe 😌

🌍 Airports using this quieter approach include Amsterdam Schiphol, Helsinki Airport, London City Airport, Zurich, and even parts of Singapore Changi — but each one does it a little differently, so you might not always notice it 👀

🚨 Your luggage tag could be switched… and you’d never know 😳✈️

A recent investigation found at least 17 travellers from Canada were detained on drug smuggling allegations after their baggage tags were switched onto suitcases filled with drugs.

Here’s how it works 👇

A baggage worker can remove the tag from your suitcase and attach it to a different bag in seconds… that bag now travels under your name 😳

🧳 How to protect yourself:

✈️ Carry-on only if you can – your bag never leaves your sight, so it can’t be tampered with

📸 Take photos – your bag + the tag = proof of what you checked and helps identify it quickly if needed

📍 Use an AirTag – lets you track your bag and confirm it’s actually travelling with you

🏷️ Double-check your tag – make sure your name + destination are correct before it goes on the belt… and add a strip of clear tape over it to make it harder to remove or swap

🔒 Use non-reusable airline tags properly – these adhesive tags are designed to stay on and show signs if tampered with
