Kings District RCMP is investigating indecent acts that occurred in Port Williams and the Berwick area.

On June 26, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a man exposing himself while alongside Hwy. 358, near the 960 block, in Port Williams. The man is described as 40-50 years old. He was wearing a t-shirt, shorts, a ball cap, and a backpack. RCMP officers patrolled the area but didn't locate the man.

On June 25, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man exposing himself on the Harvest Moon Trail, between Commercial St. and Bent Rd., near Berwick. The man is described as approximately 30 years old, and about 5-foot-10. He was wearing a white tank top and black shorts. RCMP officers searched the trail and spoke with people in the area, but the man was not found.

The investigations are ongoing; however, officers don’t believe the two incidents are related.

UPDATE: Police lay charges in shooting incident

Police have charged three people with firearm offences after an incident in Halifax yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the area of Buddy Daye Street and Gottingen Street and in Halifax. There were no reported injuries.

The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

At approximately 10 p.m., the Emergency Response Team, K9 and crisis negotiators executed
a search warrant at a residence in the 3400 block of Barrington Street.

Three occupants of the residence were arrested, and a firearm was seized.

Anaysia Riley, 20, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:
β€’ Discharge a firearm with intent
β€’ Use a firearm in commission of an offence
β€’ Pointing a firearm
β€’ Unauthorized possession of a firearm
β€’ Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
β€’ Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
β€’ Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
β€’ Unsafe storage of a firearm
β€’ Possession of a firearm in a vehicle

A 46-year-old woman, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:
β€’ Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
β€’ Unauthorized possession of a firearm
β€’ Unsafe storage of a firearm

A 17-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial youth court today to face charges of:
β€’ Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
β€’ Unauthorized possession of a firearm
β€’ Unsafe storage of a firearm

🚨 ACTIVE INCIDENT – BEAVER BANK 🚨
At 11:02 this morning, from Sackville and surrounding stations responded to reports of a house fire on Tucker Lake Road in Beaver Bank.

Crews arrived to a working fire and are actively working to bring it under control. This has escalated to a second alarm.

Please avoid the area to allow emergency crews to operate safely.


UPDATE: The fire has been brought under control. Crews remain on scene for overhaul and safety. Thank you to the public for staying clear of the area.

Berwick Firefighters along with several mutual aid partners responded to a fully involved boat on fire in Harbourville late this afternoon.

The boat was a total loss and there was significant damage to the adjacent wharf the boat was docked at.

No reported injuries or other boats impacted as a result and the fire has been extinguished at this hour.

Fire crews remain on scene working on overhaul efforts and Nova Scotia Power is working to repair lines impacted.
