Meteghan RCMP has safely arrested Collin LeBlanc, who was wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant.

LeBlanc, 48, is facing charges of:
• Assault
• Impaired Operation of a Conveyance
• Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Exceeding 80 mg%

He is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on January 28.

The RCMP thanks members of the public for their support in locating LeBlanc.

Kings District RCMP recovered more than $50,000 in stolen property and charged two men after executing a search warrant at a property in Canning.

On December 18, Kings District RCMP, with assistance of the Southwest Nova Street Crime Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant at a property in the 9600 block of Hwy. 221 as part of an ongoing stolen property investigation. Three men were safely arrested.

Officers located and seized stolen items, including, a boat and trailer, golfcart, building materials, construction tools, appliances, and clothing, among other goods. Officers also seized a quantity of co***ne and a firearm.

The recovered items are believed to be associated with more than 20 retail thefts in Kings County, which were under investigation by Kings County District RCMP. Investigators are in the process of returning the items to the businesses.

"The successful recovery of the stolen items is the result of the diligent efforts of our investigation team and the support of the community,” says Insp. William Collier, Kings District RCMP. “This outcome not only restores possessions to their rightful owners, it reaffirms our commitment to safety and justice for all."
Darren Myles Balsor, 51, of Aylesford, and Richard William Manning, 33, of Canning, have each been charged with a number of offences, including:
• Careless Use of Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
• Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Fraud
• Possession for Purpose of Trafficking

The two are also facing charges under the Excise Act and Revenue Act. Additionally, Balsor has been charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking (two counts).

The third man was arrested without charges, pending further investigation.

Balsor and Manning appeared in Kentville Provincial Court and were released to appear on January 27.

Good evening group members.

A couple of changes have been happening within all our Daily News Groups across Canada starting with....

1. returning all groups to public groups so posts can be shared quickly like missing person/pet reports and road/school closures .

2. We have changed the posting policy from always news posts, we are now allowing craft shows, yard sales as well as local business posts on Saturdays.

3. We are going to be asking you to share local photos in this post and we will pick one monthly and start switching them out .

4. We want to open all the groups to healthy conversations about some of the tough subjects that people have issues debating .

RCMP are on scene near Gold River Road, Lunenburg County at an unfolding situation. Please avoid the area. RCMP is asking people to avoid the area while police search for a suspect. There is no threat to public safety at this time.

Update (9:00 a.m.): RCMPNS left the area at approximately 9 p.m. last night unsuccessful in locating the suspect. No threat to public safety.
