Your childhood carnival night just got an adults-only upgrade. 🎡👀

Fall Fair After Dark is taking over the Discovery Centre on October 3, transforming the science centre into an after-hours playground for adults 18+.

Spend the night playing classic carnival games, race your date through a bouncy house obstacle course and try your hand at LED mini golf, all without any kids around. 🎪⛳

And unlike your typical adults-only night out, this event is completely alcohol-free.

Nine days of theatre, dance, music, film and more are coming to Halifax. 🎭🎶

The Prismatic Arts Festival is happening from September 26 to October 4, bringing multidisciplinary performances and works by Indigenous artists and artists of colour to venues across the city.

The festival spans everything from theatre and dance to live music, film, visual arts, media arts and spoken word, with events happening at venues including Neptune Theatre, NSCAD University and Dalhousie University. 🎨✨

One of this year’s highlights is the world premiere of Metamorphoses by 2b theatre company, starring Walter Borden and blending storytelling with live music and animatronics.

Wine lovers, you can sample more than 200 wines under one roof this October. 🍷👀

Wine Fair Halifax is taking over the Halifax Convention Centre on October 3, bringing together wines from Nova Scotia, across Canada and around the world for one day of tasting.

Choose between an afternoon or evening session and make your way through 200+ wines while chatting directly with winemakers and industry professionals along the way. 🍇

Your admission also comes with premium Riedel glassware to take home, and the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is this year’s charity partner.

Halifax is getting two massive nights of music this September. 🎶🔥

Magnetic World Music Festival is taking over the Garrison Grounds at Citadel Hill on September 25 and 26, bringing together some major names across EDM, hip-hop, R&B and pop.

This year’s lineup includes Sexyy Red, Alesso, Ne-Yo, Akon, Swae Lee and Khalid, giving you everything from massive dance sets to throwback R&B hits over one weekend. 👀🎧

Halifax is getting four days of food, culture and live entertainment on the waterfront. 🥟🎶

Taste Asia is back for its sixth year from September 10 to 13, taking over the Salter Lot on the Halifax Waterfront with a FREE festival celebrating Asian food and culture.

Come hungry because the Vendor Village will be filled with local food and drinks alongside crafts and products from Asian-owned businesses and makers. You can also stop by the Demo Kitchen for cooking challenges and masterclasses featuring local chefs. 👀🍜

Throughout the festival, expect music, dance, martial arts and fashion representing more than 10 Asian cultures, plus live bands and K-pop and anime performance showcases.

New this year is the Garrison Refreshment Station, a 19+ open-license beer garden from Garrison Brewing. There will also be carnival-style games and prizes, with a portion of proceeds supporting the IWK Foundation.

Looking for a fall day trip that’s a little different? 🍂🪓

The Nova Scotia Forest Festival is happening October 3 at Memory Lane Heritage Village, bringing a full day of old-school forestry traditions, outdoor activities and family-friendly fun.

You can watch live horse logging demonstrations, try your hand at axe throwing, taste maple syrup, go canoeing, meet live animals and explore interactive forestry exhibits. There’s even a Golden Axe-Throwing Tournament starting at 1:30 PM. 👀

Halifax’s maritime history is taking over the waterfront for an entire weekend ⚓🌊

The Maritime Heritage Festival is returning for its second year on September 12 and 13, bringing a free weekend of historic ships, live maritime music, ocean-themed activities and hands-on fun to the Halifax Waterfront.

The festival takes over the Maritime Heritage District around the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Sackville Landing and historic vessels including CSS Acadia and HMCS Sackville. 🚢

More than 25 community partners will be part of the weekend, with festival-goers able to explore ship decks, check out interactive ocean science experiences and touch tanks, catch live music and watch youth boat-building demonstrations.
