What do you think about this?

Dunkin' is officially making a comeback in Canada — and the first new locations could open as early as later this year. The U.S. donut and coffee chain plans to launch hundreds of cafes nationwide, with Quebec and Ontario expected to be the first focus before expanding to the East and West coasts.

The return comes with a tumultuous history: Dunkin' once had more than 200 locations in Canada, most of which were in Quebec, before the brand gradually disappeared and its last Canadian stores closed in 2018. Franchisees in Quebec later won a $16.4 million lawsuit over how the company handled the chain's decline.

The municipality is conducting its second annual road safety survey to understand residents’ perceptions about road safety in the region. Your feedback informs updates to Council through the Road Safety Strategy. For the purposes of the survey, the term “road safety” refers to ensuring the safety of all road users (drivers, cyclists, pedestrians) through traffic regulations, effective road design and increased awareness to prevent collisions.

The survey will be open until June 5 and should take about 10 minutes to complete. We appreciate your feedback. halifax.ca/surveys
