Major U.S. TV Networks Suspend White House Pool Coverage After Trump Bars CNN

ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, Fox News and CNN have suspended pooled television coverage of President Donald Trump after the White House prevented CNN from carrying out its scheduled pool duties. The move follows Trump's decision to bar CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, a decision the three organizations are now challenging in federal court.

BREAKING: Emergency crews are responding to a structure fire in Bayers Lake on Chain Lake Drive, near the metal recycling depot and Value Village.

Police have blocked the road in the area, and smoke can be smelled nearby.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area while crews work at the scene.

Police are issuing a public safety warning after two sudden deaths in the community.

Over the last 24 hours, police have responded to two sudden deaths and a person found in serious medical distress who was transported to the hospital.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Service is conducting autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death in both incidents.

The investigations are in the early stages. In the event that these incidents are determined to be drug-related, the police are reminding the public to be cautious as illicit drugs may contain unknown substances, including highly potent opioids such as fentanyl that can significantly increase the risk of overdose, serious injury, or death.

If you see someone experiencing an overdose, call 911 immediately. Signs of an overdose may include difficulty breathing, unconsciousness, vomiting, blue or grey lips or fingernails, or an inability to wake the person. If available, administer naloxone and follow emergency dispatcher instructions until help arrives.

Please note, there is no domestic burning between 8:00 A.M and 2:00 P.M daily, and restrictions are reassessed and posted everyday at 2:00 P.M; in fire risk season.

The restrictions apply to all open fires, which encompass campfires, fire pits, chimineas, fire bowls, and outdoor wood-burning stoves, along with burn barrels. Additionally, domestic brush burning and industrial burning activities, including those for agricultural purposes and clearing building lots, are subject to these rules. Fire restrictions also apply to provincial, municipal, and private campgrounds, while national parks are governed by Parks Canada. However, the daily fire restrictions do not apply to CSA-approved appliances when used according to the manufacturer's instructions. This includes devices such as barbecues, fire bowls, stoves, and patio heaters that operate on propane, natural gas, or other gases intended for these appliances, with charcoal barbecues permitted only when using briquettes.

To report a wildfire or violations of fire restrictions (including illegal burns), please call 1-800-565-2224, or 9-1-1. The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables (DNR) and/or the local fire department will be notified and dispatched to the location of the fire.

Consumer fireworks are prohibited by the Office of the Fire Marshal when the fire risk map is red. However, professional fireworks companies with permits and appropriate fire equipment and measures are allowed to use fireworks.

Additionally, you must also follow your municipal bylaws.

A Michigan credit union executive has apologized after an AI-generated image appearing to show her and members of her family wearing matching “Lake America” sweatshirts ahead of a trip to Halifax sparked backlash online.
