Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.

PTSD is more than memories of trauma. Symptoms may include:

• Intrusive memories or flashbacks
• Anxiety, irritability, or hypervigilance
• Sleep disruption or nightmares
• Avoidance of reminders of trauma
• Difficulty concentrating or emotional numbness

Everyone experiences PTSD differently — and treatment is not one-size-fits-all.

Awareness helps reduce stigma and encourages people to seek support.

If these symptoms feel familiar, know that support is available. Talk to your healthcare provider or reach out to our team to learn more about the treatment and support options that may be available to you.

June is PTSD Awareness Month in Canada - a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and recognize that healing and recovery are possible.

PTSD can affect anyone following exposure to trauma, including veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, survivors of accidents or violence, and many others. Symptoms can impact sleep, mood, relationships, concentration, and daily life.

Recovery looks different for everyone, and support matters.

At ANSR Clinic, we’re committed to helping patients access evidence-based care and individualized treatment options for mental health and trauma-related symptoms.
