Our office is closed today in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, but we wanted to take the time today to highlight three new titles from a few of the talented indigenous authors and illustrators whose stories we have the honour of helping to share.

Sem’s Map (by Rebecca Thomas, with art by Azby Whitecalf) and The Friendship Centre (by Theresa Meuse, with art by Zeta Paul) are both available now, and author Danica Roache’s debut novel, Five Seasons of Charlie Francis, will be here later this fall.

Nimbus Publishing is the largest Canadian book publisher east of Toronto, Ontario. Our office and warehouse are in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We produce approximately 50 new titles a year on a range of topics including children’s picture books and fiction, literary non-fiction, social and cultural history, nature photography, sports, politics, and biography.

In 2005, we introduced our fiction imprint, Vagrant Press. Several novels published under Vagrant have since won awards and have been optioned for film. In 2012, Nimbus was awarded the Retail Council of Canada Small Press Publisher of the Year Award. In 2017, Publishers Weekly named Nimbus one of North America’s fastest-growing publishers.
