SUBMISSIONS ARE OPENING! 🎉

As of December 1st, we'll be opening submissions ONLY for the following genres:
• Adult non-fiction
• Juvenile non-fiction (ages 6-11)
• Middle grade fiction (ages 8-12)
• Young adult fiction (ages 12+)

Check the link below for more info, and please read and follow the submission requirements carefully to ensure our editorial team is able to properly review your submission. Any questions about the platform or process can be directed to Submittable's support team—our social media is not monitored 24/7, and that kind of tech support should be left to the pros!

As a team, we ask that you please be patient as we work through these submissions; our editorial department is small (but mighty!) and works hard to make sure every submission is thoughtfully considered on top of their existing workload. We are all trying our best, and appreciate your understanding.

Submissions will be open until end of day on December 31 OR we hit the submission cap—whichever comes first. If you don't make it into this submission period, keep an eye out for when we open them again!

Publishing award-winning books since 1978

Nimbus Publishing is the largest Canadian book publisher east of Toronto, Ontario. Our office and warehouse are in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We produce approximately 50 new titles a year on a range of topics including children’s picture books and fiction, literary non-fiction, social and cultural history, nature photography, sports, politics, and biography.

In 2005, we introduced our fiction imprint, Vagrant Press. Several novels published under Vagrant have since won awards and have been optioned for film. In 2012, Nimbus was awarded the Retail Council of Canada Small Press Publisher of the Year Award. In 2017, Publishers Weekly named Nimbus one of North America’s fastest-growing publishers.
