A little reflection on this Sunday as I celebrate my firstborn child turning 18. When your child enters the stage of adulthood it really makes you think hard about time and how fast it’s moving! I often share with her my career path story as she embarks upon College in September. I hope that my stories will help and guide her into this next journey in her life. I tell her that every job you have the opportunity to experience will give you the knowledge and skills to help you grow. Sometimes life throws you curveballs so you should never get “comfortable” and you have to welcome a time when you’ll need to pivot. A career in television broadcasting to corporate video production in the public sector to entrepreneurship was all meant to happen this way because without one experience the other would not have happened. I am grateful for all of the opportunities life has given me in my career but most importantly I am grateful for my now 18 year old daughter Nevaeh who I know is going to kick some butt in this challenging and ever changing world! I’m so proud of her!
