Sonic Unyon Records proudly unveils its latest initiative, SUM Artist Management, an arm of the company dedicated to representing and developing artists, identifying and opening opportunities to them.

Wayne Petti, frontman of beloved indie rockers Cuff The Duke, was recently hired to serve as Director of Artist Management at SUM Artist Management & Label Operations for Sonic Unyon Records. Working in league with Sonic Unyon owner/CEO Tim Potocic, Petti will oversee a diverse and distinguished roster of clients that includes Terra Lightfoot, Owen Pallett, Zoon, Michael Peter Olsen, OMBIIGIZI, JD Samson, Status/Non-Status, Basement Revolver, and Born in the Eighties. Petti had previously worked in a similar capacity with Hamilton-based Straight & Narrow Management.

Since 1993, Sonic Unyon Records has earned a profile as an independent company to be reckoned with, a reputation that had as much to do with the principals’ restless resourcefulness and tireless work ethic as it did its remarkable artist roster. The label made its mark early via seminal releases from Canadian indie rock icons such as Hayden, Treble Charger, Danko Jones, and Thrush Hermit, but also nurtured and developed generations of emerging artists along the way. Recent JUNO nominations and Polaris nods attest to the label’s ongoing creative vitality and critical esteem in Sonic Unyon’s third decade.
