Marathon Complete.
Honestly the past 4 months have been physically & mentally gruelling.
But to have crossed that finished line on Sunday, was so worth it.
Went for a sub-5hr marathon and it didn’t happen, but man I’m so proud of myself.
The effort, the discipline, the pure internal conflict I had to endure over those 42.2 kms was something that I’ve never experienced before.
The marathon is SO humbling.
Taper wasn’t ideal with a nagging lower leg injury and lack of sleep and stress. By kilometre 16 I knew it was going to be a grind. I had made the unwavering commitment to finish the race, even if I had to crawl; but we didn’t need to. Finished with a time of 5:26. But it doesn’t even matter. We got it done, regardless.
+ a big thank you to my family for always coming out, the boys for running race’s as well this past weekend, & my fiancé for always helping and supporting no matter the day or time.
Whatever you wanna do, just put your head down and do it. Whatever it is. Your race. Your pace; always.
