This is what homeschool looks like around here. 🌿

After collecting our mullein, it was time to prepare it for drying — and tonight Londyn learned how to tie it properly and hang it up.

It would have been faster for me to just do it.

But faster isn't really the point.

She tied it. She figured out how to hold everything together. She hung it herself. And now every time she walks past that mullein drying, she'll know she did that.

Earlier we even made little mosquito torches from young pinecones and pine resin so we could work outside without being eaten alive. 😂🦟🔥

One evening.
A few things gathered from the property.
And more than one lesson we never had to sit at a desk for.

This is exactly what I hoped learning at home could become. 💚🌿

One project turned into another tonight. 🌿🔥

We headed outside to prepare some of the mullein we collected, but the mosquitoes apparently decided they wanted to join us. 😂🦟

So before we could get started, we made our own little mosquito torches using young pinecones and pine resin.

And this is one of my favourite things about what we’re building with Wildling Wonders.

We went outside to learn about one plant… encountered a problem… looked around at what nature gave us… and learned something completely different along the way.

No perfectly planned lesson.

Just curiosity leading to the next question. 🌲

Now, with our little torches burning and the mosquitoes hopefully keeping their distance, it’s time to get that mullein ready.

This is learning through wonder. 💚

🎨 Londyn's First Meta Glasses Art Tutorial! 🐱❤️

I left my Meta glasses sitting in the workshop for a few minutes... and when I came back, Londyn had already claimed them. 😄

Without anyone asking, she decided to film her very own art tutorial, teaching everyone how to draw a cat. Watching the world through her eyes was something really special. It's amazing to see her confidence grow and her creativity shine.

This is exactly what Wildling Wonders is all about—not perfect videos, but real moments, big imaginations, and giving our kids the freedom to create.

We couldn't be prouder of our little artist. ❤️

Some lessons can't be found in a classroom.

Today, Londyn wandered through a calm stream, feeling the cool water around her feet, watching tiny fish dart between the rocks, and taking in every little detail nature had to offer.

These quiet moments are where curiosity grows, confidence builds, and childhood slows down just enough to be enjoyed.

We don't need big adventures every day. Sometimes all it takes is a gentle stream, a little imagination, and the freedom to explore.

Sometimes we go back.
Not because we miss the old house… but because we remember the adventures it gave us. Those woods, those trails, those little corners where sticks became swords, rocks became treasure, and every tree held a new story. That's where so much of Wildling Wonders began.

Today, we came back to revisit those memories with the girls. It's amazing how a place can spark imagination all over again.

The house may have changed.
We may have changed.
But wonder never leaves.

Here's to slowing down, exploring, and reminding ourselves that the greatest adventures don't come from expensive toys—they come from curious minds and wild imaginations.

Some of the best memories don't happen on expensive vacations.
They happen in the backyard.
Tonight we hung up a few lights, turned on the little jeep, and gave the girls a place where their imaginations can run wild long after the sun goes down.
No tablets. No schedules. Just laughter, adventures, and two little girls making memories under the stars.
These are the moments we're building this life for.

We found six orphaned baby opossums with no mother in sight. After keeping them safe and searching for help, we were incredibly grateful to find a local wildlife rescue that could give them the care they needed.

Every day on our homestead brings a new adventure, and this one reminded us just how important it is to protect the wildlife around us.

Around here, childhood looks a little different. It means muddy boots, morning chores, tiny hands carrying chickens, and learning that every animal deserves kindness and respect.
Hennifer isn't just one of our hens—she's part of the family. And watching Ripley care for her reminds us why we chose this life.
The greatest lessons aren't always found in books. Sometimes they're found in a barnyard, wrapped in feathers, held with gentle little arms.
