Painting some more mini scenes today trying to recapture the sunrise colours I seen this morning. I decided to go smaller and then work up to bigger sizes. I find coming back to watercolors is always a bit of a struggle for me so I thought if I work smaller then I can get back into it again. I want to keep up a daily practice this year so I don't loose touch with it. 🖌🎨

So I took an old writing journal and cut out tbe inside pages and used the cover to make a gratitude journal for myself. I sewed in two signatures of mixed media papers to the cover. I used them because they are a bit heavier than copy paper as I wanted to be able to use markers to color off spots for days of the week. Reuse, repurpose, be creative. I am making this year a low, to no buy art supplies year. Using what I have and getting creative with stuff. Everything I used I already had. So this is an altered book I worked on last year. I started it the end of 2024, set it aside and picked it up again last November to have done for December. It is very chunky and awkward. I probably would make some alterations and pull pages out if I ever made another. There are to many pages left in it. I got the idea off of Treasure Books on YouTube if you are interested in how to make it I'll put a link in the comments. It was fun to make though. I made it with the idea I would put note paper in each day and write something everyday leading up to Christmas. And keep adding to it every year. I set it out in the livingroom as a decoration where I could see it and remember to write in it. I also added pictures of the tree and decorations. I am using it as a memory keeper to put out every year.
