I had someone inquire on my pullets and informed me that they paid 80 dollars for 4 silkie growouts. I wasn’t told from where or what the quality was. I would never offer my growouts for that price as it takes a long time to grow them out.

I decided to grow more silkies out this year than I normally do to offer some pullets as clients want to know the s*x most of the time. Of course most of them are cockerels( roosters). Out of 11 I have at least 4 that I can tell are hens. That doesn’t leave me with a lot to sell. I buy 2 bags of feed a month which are not cheap, spend several hours cleaning, feeding, getting water and attending to my chickens.

I continue with breeding silkies because i enjoy doing it. I have also worked hard over several years now to have the quality that I have.

My price will remain firm.

Again I do appreciate all the support over the years.
