🚨Sex torture killer Darren Scott Ray 72-hour Unescorted Temporary Absence Permit (UTA) “significant risk to the community.”🚨

Durham Regional Police letting the public know that the now 65-year-old child killer was on a 72-hour Unescorted Temporary Absence Permit (UTA). Lucky us.

Ray went down on first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison for the 1986 Pepin slaying. Forty years later the DRPS still peg Ray as a “significant risk to the community.”

Police describe Ray as Indigenous, 5-foot-9 and 199 pounds with an average build. He is bald and wears glasses. No booze, no drugs, no kids, no worries.

Police are asking the public to stay vigilant and to contact police at 905-579-1520, ext. 5357, if they have any information about Ray.

Ashley Rattlesnake, 30, appeared in an Edmonton courtroom on Wednesday for the first day of her sentencing hearing in the death of eight-year-old Nina Napope Dumais.

Ashley Rattlesnake was initially charged with first-degree murder. The charge was later reduced to second-degree murder before she pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Starr Dumais, the little girl’s grandmother, read a victim impact statement written by Napope Dumais' father, Brandon Dumais.

“When I walk outside and feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, that was Nina, my baby,” the statement read.

He described his daughter as full of life and deeply connected to her family.

“I know my baby girl would have grown, forged into a beautiful young woman. That I will never get to see. … My baby girl’s life was taken.”

The Crown is recommending a nine-year sentence, noting the findings of a Gladue report. The defence is seeking seven years.

The sentence is expected to be handed out on Friday.

Homicide Section took over the investigation.
2 Adults have been charged in Nina case.
