Break in complete!

Motor is broken in and this thing rips.

Couldn’t ask for better conditions to put it to the test, got a bit of sun and the snow was deep enough to wish i had a turbo.

Heading back out again tomorow while it’s good, and maybe help get some of the Polaris sled we had to leave on the hill.

Project of the day: skid plate

If you are going to ride early season it’s nice to have some protection. I am running the Ski-Doo extreme skid plate. It protects the s module, cooler and all the important parts on the bottom of your sled, and allows the chassis to slide but more over any unseen obstacles

It is a pretty quick and easy install. You have to remove the hood and side panels for access, just need to drill a few holes and rivet it on.

I highly recommend a power riveter, i used a princess auto air rivet gun ($90) well worth the money, doing it by hand sucks.

I missed the one clear day this week, and it’s going to be foggy and snowy for my next few rides, so thought I’d share a nice bluebird sun clip to cheer us all up. These days are always so good, but you have to be ready when they happen!

Playing it pretty safe out there, still a lot of sharks under the snow. Low snow, high traction, low visibility, high stoke,

Ready for day 2!

Day 1 mistakes!
Oops, forgot to change the settings on my when I put the max lens back on. Gave the shot a weird framing effect. It wasn’t what I intended but made for a unique shot.

Had to be a little careful out there, the snow depth was a little low still, but it looks like a lot of snow inbound this week.
just go to get through one more day of work and then back to the mountains!

Day 1!

Today was a success, nothing got broken, nobody got hurt. Visibility was pretty low, but snow was decent. About a foot of soft stuff on top of a hard crust! Snowing heavy all day though.

The new freeride was amazing! The bigger shocks were so cushy, and the narrower track really held a sidehill well. Stoked to put this thing through the paces once we get a bit more snow!

Day 1 starts tomorow.
I was going to ride today, but I had an opportunity to pick up an extra night shift instead. It was a tough decision, but better to put in my time now so I can get extra days on the snow when the conditions are better.

Gearing up for day 1!

Those early morning starts often leave me feeling a bit disorganized, and every once in a while I forget something imprortant.

My strategy is to get ready the night before and have everything in one place ready to go. My Mountain Lab gear bag makes it a lot easier because it holds everything I need for the day in one bag: boots, pants, gloves, goggles, helmet, beacon, and spare gear all in one water resistant bag that easily fits in the back seat or under the deck.

Also pretty stoked for the new 509 stoke gear this season!

Project of the day!
Changed the chain case oil and adjusted the chain tension!
Cheap easy maintenance to keep your sled running strong, takes 15 mins if you take your time.
