The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is a fast 3 hour drive or 45 minute flight NE of Vancouver in British Columbia. Desert plateaus and hoodoos, pine treed arid hills, rolling grasslands and the look of prairies, sandstone canyons, and snow-capped mountains -some with ski resorts, and an inland rainforest. Did you know?

Actor Benjamin Ayres is from Kamloops and has built an impressive career in film and television. He played Dr. Zach Miller on the CTV series Saving Hope and has appeared in many Hallmark Channel movies including Love by Chance and Falling for Vermont. His credits also include Battlestar Galactica, The Vampire Diaries, and Suits.

He also had a recurring role on the Gemini Award–winning HBO Canada series Less Than Kind, which earned him a Canadian Screen Award nomination.

Always great to see Kamloops talent making its mark on screens across Canada and beyond!

Join us for a special Local Filmmaker Showcase at F.I.N.E., where filmmakers from across the Thompson-Nicola region will share excerpts from their past and current projects on the big screen at the Paramount Theatre. It’s a chance to see what’s being made locally, hear directly from the creators, and connect with fellow filmmakers and film lovers.
