Not gonna lie, this one hurts a bit. This is the last order i placed before our world imploded and Epicure as we knew it, had closed their doors, and my Business. Products and a Business i had loved for over 23 years gone. And while i am so looking forward to my next chapter and am very positive Epicure in a new way will be a part of it, it still hits. So today i am going to take a deep breath. I will savour opening this box and all it contains and represents. Food. Family, friends that became Family. Dreams realized, goals set and met and gloriously lived. So many positives from that first box that arrived in much the same way on my doorstep over 23 years ago. Little did i know just how big an impact it would have. Thank you with the deepest of gratitude if in any way you were a part of my Epicure World. It matters. You matter and together we made a difference. I think i woke up today knowing change was in the air. The cardinals were singing to bring in the morning. When a door closes, no matter how hard it slams, turn around. This is the Universe preparing your life for a massive upgrade. Now to walk through the door….

Beautiful things that are also practical make my heart happy. In 2023 and I spent 5 magikal days in Tingwick at Magic Tingwick. They have these gorgeous Blankets in all of their spaces and we fell in love with them. So much that when i found one at the local store i bought it on the spot. It’s multicoloured versus the pure white that offers and uses. We’ve slept under that glorious Blanket through all the Seasons. In Summer it’s the only blanket we use and in Winter it rests atop our silk duvet providing a comforting and insulating weight. Last night was one of my fave nights to sleep. The world and sounds outside blanketed by the heavily falling snow, winds blowing random snowflakes against my cheeks(yes i sleep with the windows open year round), and deeply comforted and snuggled into our bed. We’ve since added a pure white one to one of our Guest spaces. It feels like a reassuring hug as you drift off. Oh and yes our fur babies love them too!!

Do you wear makeup??? Do you wash your face?? I love colour cosmetics and that means what goes on must come off! This is my facecloth after one week. I use a new “section” every day. And then at the end of the week i grab a clean one. My laundry fairie aka then tosses it in with the bleach load. No all the stains do not come out and that’s okay as they are only used for makeup removal. I use a double cleanse which is super important when you wear makeup. Apply a balm/creamy type of remover to dissolve the makeup ~ especially important if you wear long lasting or waterproof products, and then wipe it off. That’s the yucky facecloth results. Then i wash again using a gentle cleanser and microfibre makeup cloth. It makes sure all traces of makeup, dirt and cleaner are gone. Follow up with your toner and your treatments. Clean skin means less irritations, blocked pores and flaking. It also allows your treatments products to do their job. And yes i wash my face like this even when i skip the colour cosmetics. Dirt, pollution, debris and micro irritants all still need to be cleansed off. Not sure what your skin care regime should look like??? Ask me and i can custom tailor one to your needs.

Life has a way of asking us to rise to new experiences. A few weeks ago, I, along with so many others I care about, received notice that Epicure in its current form was ceasing operations effective immediately. I was gut punched. And then when I picked myself up because life continues to move forward ~ I realized that there are wide open spaces in front of me. I am still very much in love with Epicure and am looking forward to being able to continue to offer our incredible products sometime in the future. For today though ~ I am embracing my skills, my education and my passion for helping people. I’ve partnered with Celesty which has just opened here in Canada. Their products are divine and are manufactured according to European Union Standards which are some of the strictest in the World. All this to say I love helping people look and feel amazing. Great skincare, fun colours and when I’m able to again ~ Fantastic Food. I’d love to provide you a personalized skincare routine that works and a colour palette that helps you pop!!!

One of my yearly highlights is creating these wonderful Holiday Gifts for our CAF Members. We did close to 150 this year between our two Dudes respective Branches. Bringing joy during the Holiday Season truly fills my cup to overflowing ~ and being able to do it for such incredible Heroes makes it all the more special. I’m able to do this initiative every year because of amazing Clients like you! When you Shop with me, or sponsor a Hat or Bag, those resources are what allow me to do this!! Each one is valued at about $75 CAD. The joy on their faces is priceless. We started doing this after a fellow Sailor indicated that the popcorn toppers I’d sent out for our lad to share amongst his ShipMates a few years ago, was the only gift he would be receiving that year. When i was done bawling ~ and I decided we could and needed to do better. From that ~ our Sacks for Soldiers/Hats for Heroes program was born. So thank you for supporting me and this. Our Heroes love it and they deserve it. Biggest future request and “whoo hoo” about the contents of each bag ~ SOCKS!! They all love the socks.. thank you…

Dinner made by us for the last two days. To know whats in your food, you need to cook it. Weve been walking all over Barcelona for the last two days and its been so wonderful to create delicious meals with Last night was local Iber Black Pork that we cooked in our Epicure Steamer(we ALWAYS travel with ours) and a gorgeous salad. Today we snacked on an impromptu tapas while we prepped dinner. We only have a cooktop and microwave here so I improvised a dutch oven using a pot and a frying pan and created a beautiful pork, leek, fresh garlic and mushroom “stew” of sorts. I cooked the rice in the microwave in my small purple people feeder and then combined the rice with the protein and veggies. It was AMAZING!!! This is real food and it tastes amazing!

For over 23 years this incredible human has been mentoring me and thousands of others. Her grace, elegance, kindness, compassion, intelligence, business acumen and sense of humour have brightened my days beyond measure. She gave me and my family(and so many others) the incredible gift of choice. More importantly she’s given me a life beyond measure. Her smile and love is so genuine and it’s the highlight of all the moments we’ve been able to share over the years. So today ~ dear wonderful, amazing, fantastic and so loved ~ Happy Birthday! May it be everything you’ve dreamed of and more. You are extraordinary and loved more than you know!
