For all my sisters who need some spiritual support… here’s 10 scriptures that will motivate you to work out.

1. 1 Corinthians 6:19–20
“Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit… You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
→ Your workout can be an act of stewardship and honoring God.
2. 1 Timothy 4:8
“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things.”
→ Physical training matters—but it isn’t your highest priority.
3. 1 Corinthians 9:27
“I discipline my body and keep it under control…”
→ Discipline isn’t punishment. It’s learning to lead your body rather than letting every feeling lead you.
4. Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
→ Even an ordinary workout can become an offering when your heart is in the right place.
5. Proverbs 31:17
“She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.”
→ Strength isn’t something to be ashamed of. Scripture celebrates a woman who is strong and capable.
6. Galatians 6:9
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest…”
→ Keep showing up when the results aren’t visible yet.
7. Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
→ When you’re struggling through the last few reps, remember where your strength ultimately comes from.
8. Proverbs 16:3
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
→ Invite God into your goals instead of separating your faith from your fitness.
9. Hebrews 12:11
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest…”
→ Consistency often requires doing what isn’t comfortable today for something valuable later.
10. Psalm 139:14
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
→ You don’t work out because your body is inadequate. You work out because you can care for the body you’ve been given.

You don’t need more discipline.

You need a plan that actually accounts for your life.

Because you’re already disciplined.

You show up for work.
You take care of people you love.
You meet deadlines.
You keep your commitments.

So why does fitness keep becoming the thing that falls apart?

Maybe it’s not because you don’t care enough.

Maybe you’ve been trying to follow a plan that only works when life is perfectly calm.

And life isn’t perfectly calm.

Some weeks you’re exhausted.
Some days run late.
Dinner needs to be on the table.
Your schedule changes.
You miss a workout.

That doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

It means your plan needs to be flexible enough to survive real life.

At Soul Strength Academy, I don’t believe you need to punish your body into obedience.

I believe we’re called to steward our bodies without idolizing them.

That means building strength, caring for your health, and pursuing your goals without letting fitness become another source of guilt and perfectionism.

You don’t need a perfect routine.

You need one you can actually live with.

🤍 If you’re ready to build that kind of approach to fitness, DM me STEWARD and I’ll tell you about The Becoming Method.

Follow Layla | Christian Nutrition & Fat Loss Coach for women who want to get stronger, healthier, and more consistent — without making fitness their identity.

If you were taught that wanting a strong body meant you cared more about your flesh than your faith — I used to believe that too. Turns out stewardship and strength were never in competition. 🤍

Comment BECOMING and let’s build it the right way.

Knee pain doesn’t always mean you need to rest.

I know… this probably goes against everything you’ve been told.

But if your first reaction to knee pain is:

“Okay, I need to stop training completely.”

—you might be missing something important.

Pain is a signal, not always a command to stop moving.

Sometimes your knee needs less load, better exercise selection, improved technique, or gradual strengthening — not complete inactivity.

And here’s the frustrating part:

If you completely stop using your knee every time it hurts, you may never give your body the opportunity to build the capacity it needs.

That doesn’t mean you should “push through the pain.”

It means we learn to modify, not automatically eliminate.

Maybe you reduce the weight.
Maybe you change the range of motion.
Maybe you swap the exercise temporarily.
Maybe you decrease volume.
Maybe you work with a physio to understand what’s actually going on.

Rest can be part of the solution. But rest isn’t always THE solution.

Your body isn’t fragile.
And having some knee pain doesn’t mean you have to give up on getting stronger.

Learn to work with your body, not against it. 🤍

If you have persistent, severe, or unexplained knee pain, get assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional before modifying your training.
