Coquitlam Built A Park With Commitment Issues

This is Brunette Interim Park in Maillardville. Not Brunette Park. INTERIM Park. The City basically said, ā€œWeā€™re not sure what weā€™re doing with this land yetā€¦ so here, have a playground.ā€

But hereā€™s the thingā€¦ they actually did a REALLY nice job.

Thereā€™s a playground, community gardens, picnic tables, games, a little stage, plenty of space to hang out and, because apparently a temporary park needed a soundtrack, thereā€™s even a public piano. šŸŽ¹

Itā€™s colourful, inviting and honestly feels way more permanent than something with ā€œinterimā€ in its name.

The catch? Itā€™s temporary.
