ADDITIONAL DATE ADDED: In preparation for the upcoming release of Rogers Xfinity service in the Canning area, there will be scheduled maintenance Tuesday, August 19th overnight into early Wednesday morning. This maintenance will likely take a couple hours, starting at midnight. This will cause a service outage for customers in Canning and surrounding areas (Kingsport, Medford, Blomidon, Habitant, Hillaton, Sheffield Mills, etc).

Travel Advisory: Nova Scotia has restricted activities in the woods and banned open fires because continued hot, dry conditions have greatly increased the risk of wildfires. As of today, August 5 at 4pm until October 15 or restrictions are lifted, there is no hiking, fishing, camping outside of official campgrounds, or use of vehicles in the woods. There also continues to be a ban on open fires across the province. The fine for violating restrictions is $25,000.

There are many ways to explore Nova Scotia’s scenic natural landscapes. Beaches, coastal parks and campgrounds offer exciting ways to enjoy the outdoors without travelling in the woods.

The province of Nova Scotia is urging members of the public to 🚫 NOT call 9-1-1 or police of jurisdiction, if you spot an illegal burn 🔥 or people not following the travel ban through woods 🪾

You are instructed to report violations to ☎️1-800-565-2224☎️ if you notice someone not following the current provincial burn ban and additional restrictions that have been implemented on travel through woods.

Fire departments across Nova Scotia do not have the means to safely enforce nor issue fines during the current fire ban 👨‍⚖️

📭✉️ In light of the Canada Post strike set to begin this Friday, we wanted to make our customers aware that we offer monthly Pre-Authorized Debit as a payment option. We also accept Visa and MasterCard. Most of our customers are set up with monthly email invoicing but for those customers who do not have email, please contact the office at 902-678-2395 Option 1. ✉️📭
